Ecogia leisure area :
This area, which is exclusively reserved for relaxation, is open to the centre's residents at all times.
So that people might have a pleasant place to meet and spend their evenings, the centre has provided its residents with a privately managed bar which is open on request from 9.30 p.m. on. After midnight there is no bar service, but you may still pour yourself a drink and leave your payment in the moneybox provided or write your name on the leaflet. Please be meticulous about paying so that the bar manager will not lose money.
The bar is not open to people from outside Ecogia. Its use should not disturb the sleep of other residents (playing of loud music, for example).
No food is available in the bar and residents are requested not to eat there.
Laundry service :
Laundry is collected on Tuesdays and returned on Thursdays. Laundry forms are available in the rooms.
In respect for the environment, sheets and towels are changed once a week.
If your participants use the laundry service and you wish them to pay for this themselves, please collect the appropriate amounts from them and hand over the total due as a single payment to DSR (in Swiss francs).
Currency:
The currency used at the training centre is the Swiss franc. Bank office, Post office and shops are situated in Versoix, around 1,5km away.
ICRC Headquarters' staff members needing to travel for professional purposes between Ecogia and ICRC headquarters may ask for taxi vouchers at the Ecogia (or headquarters) reception desk. People wishing to go from Ecogia to headquarters are requested to inform reception at least two hours in advance so that group transport can be arranged.
Transport data base is available to ICRC Headquarters' staff for shared car transportation.
For other trips by taxi, the reception desk will call a local company for you.
A parking lot is available at the entry to the Chemin d'Ecogia for people using their own cars. Cars are not allowed in the courtyard.
Bus V goes from Cornavin railway station to Ecogia (the bus stops 300 m from the Centre). On the way, it also stops across from ICRC headquarters (see timetable www.tpg.ch) and Versoix railway station.
There is also a train service between Versoix and Geneva (www.cff.ch).
