Ecogia

In 1995 the ICRC decided to centralize the organization's training activities, which until then had been held in various spots around Geneva.  

The Training centre opened its door on January 2001 and welcomes the training and meeting sessions of the ICRC.

Ecogia quickly opened its doors to other organizations or institutions working in the field of humanitarian, social or education, as well as local enterprises wishing to benefit from its high level of technology.

A 50-year interest-free loan was obtained from the Swiss Confederation through FIPOI (Building Foundation for International Organizations) to cover the cost of the renovation of the building.

Funds to cover the cost of facilities and equipment, were provided by sponsors and private donors.
